I would like to find out more information on the Waco Jaycees organization; however, I was unable to locate a website with any information on the Waco area Jaycees. What is the best way to get more information on your organization (on membership, activities, charity functions, etc.)?

Thanks,
Keith Helpert

The West warwick JAYCEES of Greater Kent County in Rhode Island, has been an outstanding chapter for over fifity(50) years, in providing unparallel community services to their region of the state, while building tremendous leaders and valuable community improvements.

The JAYCEE CORRIDOR & ARBORETUM, a 400-linear foot Espanade, that cultivates numerous species of trees, shrubbery and flowers, has been a work-in-progress for over six(6) years, in bringing together volunteers from around the state and visitors across the country, to a most serene and colorful park-like venue that is home to areawide EARTH DAY kick-offs, ARBOR DAY Tree Plantings, ECOLOGY DAYS Weekend, CORPORATE CARES DAYS and the national program of volunteerism, MAKE A DIFFERENCE DAY!

The efforts to make this locale a truly AWARD-WINNING arena, has been an extensive effort of dedication, communal work ethic, personal sacrifice and episodes of joyous events and collective shating of life and love.

JAYCEE Riverwalk-Corridor Project Chairman, Ronnie Holloway, has devoted several years of his available free time, to building the JAYCEE Corridor & Arboetum under all kinds of circumstances and weather conditions. He has been a quiet, productive and invaluable leader in getting the job done and a solid support in implementing many successful public programs. He was the recipient of the JAYCEE of the Year in 1998, 1999 and 2000 for such gallant efforts.

The JAYCEE Corridor & Arboretum, in concert with Boy Scout Troops and Girl Scout groups, with ancillary assistance via the Portuguese Cultural Society, the Franco-American Heritage Committee, the Pawtuxet River Authority, the Town of West Warwick and City of Warwick, all mahjor colleges here in Rhode island (i.e., University of Rhode Island, Johnson & Wales, Providence College), corporate sponsorships as Roch's Market & Produce, Wescott Bakery, Dunkin Donuts, Kiku Flowers, Michael Realty, Brookside Package Store, Mr. Taco Que Pasa, Silver Lake Pizza,Barber's Auto and Kent County Daily TIMES, just to name a few, have been tremendous.

It is certainly my pleasure and personal honior, to be the administraive manager of such a fine chapter, essential Foundation and the overseeer of such a dynamic project as the JAYCEE Corridor & Arboretum, which has been recently recognized by the Volunter Center of Rhode island, as its 2005 CommunityImpact Winner for the Environment.

On behalf of myself and family, I want to extend deep appreciation and humble gratitude to the West Warwick municipality and the JAYCEES, for DEDICATING the JAYCEE Corridor & Arboretum in the memory of my beloved brother 'JIMMY" on Novenber, 20th, 1998, for the sad and untimely loss of a wonderful guy who was devoted to the love of schoolboy sports and cherished his association with the boy scouts of America.

Thank You one and all and GOD Bless you and Our Great Country, America!

                                           John J. "Jack" Lancellotta
